How it all started...
Church of Purpose is a ministry birthed out of a desire to know WHY. Our church doesn’t just want people to make it to Heaven, we want people to impact Earth. The only way for an individual to impact Earth is by knowing why God placed them here. Purpose is not who you are… It's what you were created for.
In 2012, a vision of ministry was conceived in Pastor Frederick's heart to assist the people of God in finding their divine purpose in God through the teaching of the Word. With a burning passion to plant this seed in the earth, Minister Thomas established Purpose Training bible study every 2nd and 4th Wednesday night in Montgomery, AL.
In the process of transitioning from serving to Senior Pastor, Frederick Thomas served in many areas to include; Ministers on Call, Security, Road to Recovery (counseling), ministerial staff, Children’s Ministry & Young Adults Pastor.
On January 21, 2020 the climax of his vision was birthed. Church of Purpose was launched in the Wiregrass area of Dothan, Alabama.

- CSI – Christians serving Intensely (Ushers)
- SVU – Spiritual Voices United (Praise Team)
- P.O. – Purpose Officers (assigned to new converts to help them through there first year of salvation)
- SWAT – Outreach ministry
- Money Matters – This ministry is for those who desire to be better stewards of what God has given them.
- Paired for Purpose – This ministry is established to strengthen the relationship with couples (Couples ministry)
- YOLO - This ministry is established so that singles can maximize their singlehood before committing to marriage. (Singles Ministry)
- LIT – Youth Ministry (13-18 yrs of age)
- Boyz to Men – Mentoring programs for young Males (13-18 yrs of age)
- Joshua Generation – Young Adults Ministry (19-25yrs of age)
